Memories and Family Photographs from Life in Paris
My grandmother Andree Gilles and my grandfather Georges Tonnellier holding my mother, Jacqueline Fougeron, in 1930. She was their first child.
My grandfather was a filmmaker and a photographer. It is quite possible that he had put the camera on a tripod and used a self-timer device as this photo was found in his album.
My grandparents were at the window of the family Maison de Maitre, rue Saint Blaise in the XX eme arrondissement in Paris, where my great-great grandfather had set up his lemonade factory.
The courtyard was always full of workers putting the fizz into the flat lemonade and couriers coming to distribute it by foot to the local cafes.
I loved that old cobbled courtyard and I still can remember the incessant activities of the lemonade factory, which existed until I was 12 years old. ~shared by @martinefougeron
