Vintage Portrait of a Carefree Couple, My Grandparents
My grandparents at the lake.
I love how candid both of my grandparents are in this photo. He was a minister, and she was the ultimate Southern belle and minister’s wife.
She must have been chilly after swimming in the lake and borrowed his shirt. It is buttoned askew with cigarettes in the pocket.
I think she was exceptionally happy and carefree at the moment not to notice those things, as usually she was perfectly polished. But that is what I love about this photo! ~shared by @sarahjanewinter
