Happy Holidays from Save Family Photos
Picture taking was probably a big deal in the 1940s, but my Dad got distracted by his shiny (new?) train set on Christmas morning. His baby sister (my aunt) was a cooperative subject.
Christmas at my grandparents’ house always felt magical. My grandmother was a great cook and their house felt festive and warm. This picture of my Dad and Aunt shows me that they grew up with that warmth.
I love that my Dad is so excited about the train he can’t sit still for a picture.
Especially during the holidays, it feels great to remember our late grandparents and other family members who aren’t around anymore. In this way, they still feel a part of our lives. ~shared by @kristenry
