Unforgettable Vintage Family Photos from my Grandparents’ Adventures in The Pacific Northwest
My grandparents shared a love for nature and adventure.
This is my grandmother, Mary Pearson, sitting in a vintage vehicle, fully packed with camp gear against a backdrop of the North Cascades.
This incredible image was shot by my grandfather, Hal Pearson, in Mt. Baker National Forest, around 1930. My grandparents have hundreds of photos from their adventures in the Pacific Northwest using this vehicle from 1930 through the 1950s.
You can see piles of firewood in the backdrop. I’m guessing this was a type of campground as there are tents scattered about the field.
Before their marriage in 1928, my grandfather arrived as a Swedish emigrant in 1910, spending his childhood and young adult years in Pacific Northwest logging camps.
I love all of the old photos from my grandparents’ many adventures, many of which I have scanned and shared on my website.
