The Most Beautiful Photograph Ever Made is One From Our Family Archives
Meet my Aunt Fran.
My words will never do her justice; I can never properly explain how much she means to my family and me.
And to me, this is the most beautiful photograph ever taken. Whenever I stayed with Aunt Fran, I would carry this photo around wherever I went. She gave it to me when I was a child because I was (and still am) obsessed with it. It’s my most prized possession. She was only 22 years old when this photo was taken in 1946.
Aunt Fran has witnessed almost a century of change, on which she enjoys reflecting. As we go through old photographs, newspaper clippings, political pins and posters, Aunt Fran shares stories with me about her experiences and all that she has seen during her lifetime. It’s such a meaningful way to stay connected to her, to our family and to our shared history.
Aunt Fran will be 90 this December. ~shared by @@ssusannaahh
