When We Discover Family Photos, We Discover Ourselves
“Family faces are magic mirrors. Looking at people who belong to us, we see the past, present and future. We make discoveries about ourselves.” -Gail Lumet Buckley
My grandmother, as a child at her home in Philadelphia. She was sick and a family friend came over to make portraits.
For someone who grew up in the era she did, her life is remarkably well documented.
Recently she has been trying to clean out the basement, which led my uncle, a photographer, to find a ton of boxes of photographs from her lifetime. ~shared by @stephaaronson
