Strength, Wisdom and Love are Revealed in a Simple Old Photo
My grandparents in the late 1940s in Michigan, where my grandfather grew up.
They had just recently gotten engaged and my grandma was meeting my grandpa’s parents for the first time! She came to New York from Russia; he was a Lieutenant in the US Navy. My grandma was working at Bloomingdales in Manhattan when they first met. They fell in love and got married in August of 1945, and grew their love story with four children – 2 boys and 2 girls.
They traveled and lived in different states before finally retiring in a lovely beach house in Delaware. I have such fond memories of that beach house and cherish those times with them.
My grandpa passed away in 2007, in his own bed, holding onto my grandmother. My grandma lived until 2010. I will forever admire her for always trying new things – even in her old age. And I will never, ever forget the strength and wisdom my grandpa passed onto me. I always wish I had seen them more and asked about more of their history.
They were an incredible couple! ~shared by @honeyyfoxx
