“The day she had her curls cut off,” it says on the back. My grandfather found my grandmother’s stash of things, her things that he hasn’t touched since she died in 1992. Apparently, there was a very special book, an album that belonged to my great-great grandmother Blanche! And here she is, Blanche Dolton nee Atkinson, 1882-1952. Needless to say, I am so excited to see what could possibly be included in the album, the family history waiting to be rediscovered. This priceless album makes me so glad that I’ve been bugging my grandfather about this old stuff. That’s why he started digging through old photos in the first place! I also have to say how much I love this vintage portrait of Blanche. So many of her children inherited her sparkling ice blue eyes, which you can’t even see here in sepia. ~shared by @the_people_tree
