Throwback Thursday is More Meaningful When We Discover Family Photos
I’ve been a nature girl all my life.
.
Despite growing up in a big city, I feel like I am most at home when I’m exploring nature.
.
My first trail “hike” was at four months old, tucked in a carrier on my dad’s back. He carried me up to the top of Vernal falls in Yosemite. All through my childhood, my family regularly camped in the valley at least once a year.
.
This photo is a favorite from family adventures. Taken at Glacier Point in the late 1960’s, we look amazed and happy! I love my mom’s stylish cat-eye glasses, my baby sister’s chubby cheeks and my pixie haircut. I love the memories it brings back. I love Yosemite. It’s my second home.
