This lovely lady is 91 years young today!

Every year on her birthday she would be presented with a peony from this garden.

On her necklace is a basketball shaped charm, a gift from her steady fella at the time, captain of the team. When this snapshot was taken, she was 16 years old. She is pictured in her Aunt Eleanor’s garden, circa 1942.

She grew up during the Depression, very poor. Her Mom made all her clothes, including this awesome dress!

My mom and dad raised six girls in the suburbs of NYC (Massapequa). I’m the youngest. My oldest sister is 18 years older than me. She had me at 43. Can’t imagine!
