A Family Flashback to Old Family Photos From the 1960s

Flashback to the old family business. This is my Dad and his two sisters on the truck in the 1960s when they were kids and the family business was wood: pre-finished plywood and veneers specifically! I think it’s pretty rad 🙂
Looks like an adventure-mobile. ~ shared by @megisaweirdo

A Sicilian Story told in an Old Photo

Posted by | · · · · · · · · · · · | Featured Family Stories | No Comments on A Sicilian Story told in an Old Photo

This is my Dad and his siblings with Santa, in the late 1950s. He’s the boy on the left and was the second of eventually ten total kids.

My Dad was the child of a first generation Sicilian immigrant and an English heritage Southerner from GA. This was taken somewhere in the Philadelphia region. From left Robert (Bobby my dad), Anna, Baby Mary, William, & Katherine (Kathy). Later five more were added to the brood. ~ shared by @lucindalunacy

Why Finding a Box of Old Photos is Magical

Posted by | · · · · · · · · · · | Featured Family Stories | No Comments on Why Finding a Box of Old Photos is Magical

Look what a little doll my Grandma Alice was. She’s the little one in the bottom left.
We found a box of old photos in the attic and this antique photo album was in there with all these beautiful images of my dad’s mom when she was young.

I love vintage photos but they’re always better when you recognize the people in them and can tell part of their story. ~shared by @christineomfg (What are you doing this holiday to gather the stories behind your family photos so they won’t be lost?) #savefamilyphotos #wewerehere #familyphotos#familyphoto #grandparents #vintagephoto #vintagephotos #filmisnotdead #pictapgo_app

My grandfather, William Jonathan Barnes, WWII veteran, pictured in California at base preparing for service in the Pacific Theater. “Dec. 7, 1941 – a date which will live in infamy – the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.” ~ Franklin D. Reunited with an Old Family Photo Album

Posted by | · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · | Featured Family Stories | No Comments on Reunited with an Old Family Photo Album

We have been reunited with an old family photo album, which we thought was lost when my Grandma died 25 years ago. I had never seen any of my Mum and Dad’s wedding photos, but this album has them.

31 years later, and my Mum and Dad are still going strong! ~shared by mrsdbrown82

A Photo of my Beautiful Mother

My beautiful Mother. Taken around 1952-53. I always wished we could’ve been the same age together. I loved her clothes, music, and easiness of her day. ~shared by @gina2u

Anything but an Ordinary Family Picture

Posted by | · · · · · · · · · · · · | Featured Family Stories | No Comments on Anything but an Ordinary Family Picture

To anyone else, this may be an ordinary picture. To me, this is the last picture I ever took of my grandma. A woman who battled cancer in her last days. She is the woman who taught me to wake up every morning singing! She had very little in life, but was as happy as a person who had it all. Now you may understand this isn’t “just” a picture. ~ shared by @deardreamlove

How I Like to Remember My Mom and Dad

Posted by | · · · · · · · · · · · · · | Featured Family Stories | No Comments on How I Like to Remember My Mom and Dad

My Mom and my Dad, Christmas 1975. They look truly happy together and that makes me really happy.
They divorced when I was 5, so I don’t really remember them being together and in love, so this is how I like to remember them. ~shared by @nottaylorsmith #savefamilyphotos #wewerehere #oldfamilyphotos #familyphotos #familyphoto #analog #foundphotos #pictapgo_app #parents #parent #vintagephotos #family #families #filmisnotdead
