Riding in The Odyssey with my Dad. This must have been 1981, and I’m pretty sure I’m 7.
I learned to drive in this crazy vehicle; it was the best gift I ever received, despite the fact I could rarely pull start it myself.
My Dad used to take me to all the BLM land around Napa County. We’d spend hours blasting down old mining roads.

This is my grandfather, Alfred Ludwig, with his favorite draft horse.

My family was in the ice business in Connecticut from 1889 to 1944. Originally oxen and draft horses were used to haul ice from the lakes. In the background are two ice delivery carriages and the family’s first truck – a chain driven Mack. The photograph was taken in the mid to late 1920’s. ~ shared by @ludwigdermaler

My grandfather Joseph was a horse jockey who raced in the U.S. and Mexico in the 1930’s. This was taken at the track where he met my grandmother in Aurora, Illinois.
